Highlighting Industry 4.0, Indonesia is Prepared to Reap Opportunities at the Hannover Messe 2023


For the third time, Indonesia is selected as an official partner country at Hannover Messe 2023, the world's largest exhibition for industrial technology. This time, Indonesia's participation has excellent chances for developing national branding and showcasing the advancement of the national industry in implementing industrial technology 4.0.

 

"Indonesia's participation at the event will bring the tagline "Infinite Journey,"  which aims to introduce the power of technology, promote sustainable development, and support a circular economy," said the Director General of Industrial Resilience, Zoning and Industrial Access (KPAII) of the Ministry of Industry, Eko S.A. Cahyanto at the Hannover Messe 2023 Press Briefing in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/3).

 

The Hannover Messe 2023 will be held in Hannover, Germany, from April 17–21, 2023. Indonesia will present the National Pavilion Zone with 157 Indonesian co-exhibitors, by the sub-themes Engineered Parts and Solutions, Future Hub, Sustainability and Energy Transition, Global Business and Markets, Compressed Air and Vacuum, Digital Ecosystems, Drive Technology and Automation, and Motion and Drives.



Andi Rizaldi, Expert Staff to the Minister of Industry for the Field of Business and Investment Climate,  stated at the same event that Indonesia would like to convey to the world that the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap is aimed at modernizing industrial sectors in Indonesia which currently focuses on seven priority sectors, including the food and beverage industry, textiles and textile products, automotive, electronics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.



Furthermore, Indonesia will also highlight the development of Industrial Zones and Special Economic Zones (KEK) progress, the concept of developing the National Capital City (IKN), investment policies, inclusive sustainability and energy transition, start-up businesses and technology development, as well as support for the circular economy.

 

According to Winardi Hanafi Lucky, the Director of Europe II of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hannover Messe is in accordance with the priority of emphasizing economic diplomacy to promote the advantages of cooperation with partner countries. "We are prepared to support Indonesia's role as partner country for the 2023 Hannover Messe by designating Indonesian ambassadors overseas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs promotes a better diversification of the industrial chain. In addition to strengthening bilateral ties between Indonesia and Germany, particularly in terms of trade and investment, Indonesia can become a significant trading partner for Europe through this event "said Lucky.

 

The Director of Information and Communication for the Economy and Maritime, Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Septriana Tangkary explained that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics will disseminate information regarding Indonesia's participation in the Hannover Messe 2023 through all channels, both above the line and below the line, definitely by synergizing with other Ministries/Agencies and community group participation.

 

According to Marco Siebert, the Director of Cooperation International DMAG, Indonesia is a sizable country with a rich history and civilization, a promising future, and a demographic advantage with a large number of productive ages as well as various potentials for innovation. The Hannover Messe is targeted to be attended by around 100,000 visitors from all over the world, followed by 4,000 exhibitors, including 300 startups and 8,000 product innovations. Moreover, The Hannover Messe will bring industry, government and media together. "At this event, the state leaders can discuss with industry players to collectively find solutions to problems relating to the future of industry and people, because the solutions are obtained from industry," he said.
