2 Billion Dollars' Worth of Collaboration Commitments Reached at Hannover Messe 2023


Investment in Indonesia has increased as a positive result of the Hannover Messe 2023 event. A number of collaboration agreements are signed by representatives of business and government at the largest industrial technology show in the world.
 
"As a Partner Country of Hannover Messe 2023, Indonesia has achieved one of its participation goals with this cooperation agreement. Namely achieving industrial cooperation and foreign investment" stated Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in Hannover, Germany, on Monday (17/4).
 
According to the Minister of Industry, 27 cooperation agreements, including one Government to Government (G to G) cooperation agreement between the Indonesian and German governments, are signed by the Indonesian delegation at the Hannover Messe 2023 event.
 
In addition, there are four agreements signed between Government to Business (G to B) and up to 22 agreements made by Business to Business (B to B) or through cooperation between businesses. The investment partnership commitment is worth more than USD 1.9 billion in total.
 
"The Hannover Messe 2023 co-exhibitors provides 75% of the participants for the MoU signing; the remaining participants are other than the co-exhibitors. This indicates that the co-exhibitors have a lot of interest in working with other companies,” the Minister stated.
 
Agus conveyed that the G to G agreement that is signed, a Joint Statement Declaration of Intent (JDoI) between the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) regarding Joint Economic Cooperation.
 
Then, for the G to B scope of cooperation, it entails improving human resources in the development and transformation of Industry 4.0, managing waste into energy, managing waste utilizing the circular economy, and collaborating on the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN).
 
Meanwhile, the fields of cooperation carried out on a B to B basis include sustainable management of energy technology, as well as investments in solar energy utilization, the development of semiconductors, medical devices, and manufacturing industry safety.
 
Additionally, there are cooperations in the fields of waste-to-energy management, establishment of a chemical and molding factory center, establishment of a learning center, cooperation in the electric vehicle (EV) recharging ecosystem, and digital information industry 4.0.
 
"In addition, the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) milling machines and learning systems for medical ventilators, digital solutions for Small and Medium-

sized Industries (IKM) and digital services, as well as cooperation in radars production. The parties involve, consist of numerous private companies and also State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN)," said Agus.
 
On this occasion, the Minister of Industry expressed his appreciation to all parties who have pledged their commitment for initiatives to boost foreign investment in Indonesia. This initiative is believed to accelerate the rise in industrial competitiveness and national economic expansion growth. “The agreement of this industrial cooperation can result in numerous improvements to the industry in many areas and also provide access to a larger industrial market," he said.
 
Utilizing the Hannover Messe 2023, Indonesian businesses can be encouraged to link with the global supply chain network and showcase the strength of national industrial technology. As a result, Indonesia is recognized as a significant player in contributing to the advancement of industrial technology as well as its supporters, in addition to having the potential to become a major market player globally.
 
For its participation at the Hannover Messe this year, Indonesia has four main agendas. First, to introduce Indonesia's vision on the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap. Second, promote industrial cooperation. Third, promote investment and exports. Finally, to join the global supply chain network and enhance bilateral cooperation relations with Germany.
